SRA designed a new three-story, 120 bed rehabilitation hospital for Marianjoy on the wooded campus of the Wheaton Franciscan Sisters. The project features a new 172,000 square foot inpatient hospital, new parking garage for 517 vehicles, and new lobbies for outpatient services. The new inpatient hospital is linked to the existing hospital building with a covered corridor which looks onto a circular courtyard. The Labyrinth Garden in the center of the circular courtyard acts as an impressive focal point for the campus. The circular courtyard is also an organizing feature in the geometry of the vehicular driveway and the building entrances. The new hospital includes a therapy gym on each floor, pediatric suite, gift shop, pharmacy, chapel, meditation room, administrative office and board room. A residential apartment was designed for patient training in the activities of daily living. An outdoor, open-air courtyard with an Enabling Garden is a central component of the inpatient hospital.
In 2009, 2013, 2016 & 2017, Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital was voted among the "20 Most Beautiful Hospitals" by Soliant Health, one of nation's largest staff companies.
In April 2007, Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital was recognized as an award winner in the New Construction, Suburbs category by Chicago Building Congress.
2006 December, Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital was awarded "Project of the Year" in the Healthcare category by Midwest Construction.
